Program Mission
The mission of Civil Engineering Department is to offer highly rewarding career oriented undergraduate and graduate degree programs aligned with the needs of the United Arab Emirates and the region through excellence in teaching, student learning, faculty scholarship and engagement in community development. Programs offered by the department produce graduates who are well-rounded in mathematical, engineering, and scientific knowledge; who have the ability to analyze, evaluate, and design civil engineering systems; who have the ability to communicate effectively; and who have acquired an understanding and appreciation for global and societal issues.

The vision of the Civil Engineering Department is to be recognized as a national department of choice for quality civil engineering education, applied research that drives regional economic development, and enjoys international accreditation. Required Credit Hours: minimum 142 hours

Career Options

Both private companies and public agencies seek civil engineers for a variety of professional positions. Many graduates work for local and international engineering consulting firms or construction companies as design engineers, field engineers and project managers. They also join government agencies to oversee transportation, water supply, environmental protection, and resource management.
