Supervision and Support At the first diagnostic meeting, on entry to the programme, the general form of the research will be established and a plan of study negotiated. A supervisory team will be established. This will consist of:

1. A Student Academic Tutor (SAT)
2. A Director of Studies (DoS, who will usually be drawn from the Faculty of Engineering & IT)
3. A Second Supervisor (SS)
4. An Academic Advisor (AA) from the University of Manchester will be appointed when the student registers for RES606B Research Design and Planning module (full time and part-time). The University of Manchester will provide each student with an Academic Advisor whose role is to provide general guidance and support. The Academic Advisor will offer specialist advice on aspects of the work and on general research progress.
